Myth: You need to join a gym to exercise


Truth: I love going to the gym, however not as much as I did, and not everyone likes the gym. It doesn’t have to be about the gym, or exercise classes.


We don’t all have to be super fit and lift heavy weights. As we get older it’s all about moving more and keeping your body moving. Housework (oh joy without measure), gardening, playing golf, playing tennis, walking, washing the car (my least favourite thing), cleaning windows (or maybe this is my least favourite thing?), swimming, cycling, yoga, Pilates etc.


Whatever floats your boat, as it were. The most important thing is keep moving and using your body often and regularly. And ..... age should not be a barrier, I'm not suggesting that we are all like the amazing Johanna Quaas in the video above (click on it) but I would encourage you all to do whatever you can to keep moving no matter what your age.
